On February 3rd 1992, Tony Luke and his two sons opened up a small sandwich shop in South Philadelphia. It was not easy—business started slow and the family struggled to keep doors open. But they never gave up on their dream. When Tony Luke’s won Best of Philly for their cheesesteak and roast pork in 1994, the crowds started rolling in. Now they’re not only a Philly icon, but an international brand as well. The shop has come a long way, but Tony Luke Jr. is certain that one thing has not changed—“We still have that little South Philly neighborhood mentality and we still appreciate every single customer."
